Top UK bookmaker William Hill has signed a sponsorship deal with the English Football Association. They are now the official sponsor of the FA Cup and the England team till the end of the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
William Hill has secured rights to advertising, hospitality and the use of exclusive England and FA Cup content and imagery for marketing purposes. And the company will also act as the “Official Betting Partner” of The FA Cup.
Such agreement is the first of such kind between a bookmaker and the FA. This deal excludes the betting rights for Wembley Stadium which Betfred owns since 2007.
William Hill’s Chief Executive Ralph Topping says they have been looking for ways and means to satisfy their customers with events they most liked. And this sponsorship deal with definitely make their players happy as well as shed light on William Hill and therefore raise market share in their business.
The head of sponsorship at The FA, Peter Daire commented that they were pleased with this deal with William Hill. William Hill holds a strong reputation in the UK sports scene both locally and online and this would help to secure The FA’s public relations for England and The FA Cup. And at the same time, William Hill will definitely gain by being associated with such a world known brand as The FA Cup.
